Stanley Silver

He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Arizona and continued his education at the Art Center in Pasadena. While studying at the University of Arizona, Silver captured the attention of the Los Angeles Dodgers, as well as other organizations, and was on his way to becoming a professional artist.

Growing up in Los Angeles has profoundly impacted Silver’s style.  He became fascinated at an early age with the iconic culture of his home town as well as with Hollywood landmarks.  Today, he embraces the California lifestyle and thrives from the energy of the city, the diverse culture and the beautiful scenery that surrounds him. Silver interprets his vision of everyday life through his use of paints and mixed media bringing energy to  his pieces in a unique and unconventional way.

Silver has an extraordinarily wide body of work as he is fascinated by different genres, and likes to experiment  with new techniques and styles He uses colorful, abstract backgrounds juxtaposed with realistic images of various subject matters. Multiple layers of paint are used to create each painting, and are applied using a variety of techniques to produce an unique look. Along with many applications of paint, numerous tools are used to help create different textures and depth within his work. Silver uses everything from stencils to carving tools, to found objects – nothing is outside of the realm possibility. He is always looking to find inspiration in the world around him and pushes himself to continually evolve.

What sets Silver’s work apart from others, is how it is meant to be viewed at multiple levels. From a distance, one might notice the colorful details and the realistic rendering of the subject matter. As you move closer, you will notice the layering and texture applied to the canvas. The closer you go, the more details unfold, and you are rewarded with all of the hidden gems scattered throughout the painting.

Silver’s art has been exhibited in prominent galleries and museums throughout the United States. He has large installations in numerous stadiums around the country such as Chase Center, Lambeau Field and Little Caesars Arena to name a few. Hollywood has embraced Silver’s art for years, capturing  the attention of the set decorators, cast and crew of the hit TV shows, Entourage, Two and a Half Men and Ballers, among others.  

Stanley Silver’s studio is in Sherman Oaks, CA where he lives with his wife and his two sons.
