Pete’s art style is very urban, and he brought that with him when he created these two complimentary pieces. The vantage point of both photographs is precise, as both as they match in their perspective and symmetry. It is photographed with long exposure to showcase cars going by which adds life and movement to the photographs. They are then painted with long paint strokes to showcase pops of color. “The Gardens” was painted using Blues, white and a bit of Silver to mimic the Toronto Maple Leafs colors, and “The Prime on Bay”.

“I have always been inspired by city nightlife, architecture, and hockey. Growing up in Toronto’s east end, I never got the opportunity to attend many Leaf games, but at 16, I applied for a job, and got the opportunity of a lifetime to work at Leafsport / CentreSports just as Maple Leaf Gardens was closing, and Air Canada Centre (at the time) was opening. I am proud to say, I was at opening night at Air Canada Centre where over the next few years I had the best time working and saving for college. Now, many years later while currently fulfilling my art dreams in Los Angeles, I feel like its been full circle and am beyond proud to now have been chosen to create two original art pieces for Scotiabank Arena.” - Pete Kazprzak
