Growing up watching the Raptors over the years, team members left major impacts on both their organization and the community of fans rallying behind them. The passion and dedication these athletes hold for the game inspires many young basketball fans such as myself to apply this resolve to our own trades. This series of works highlights some of the Raptors’ greatest leaders who not only led on the court, but also served as heroes to Canada as a whole.

The portraits of both DeMar DeRozan and Chris Bosh showcase a series of depictions from their rookie years with the Raptors, to further in their careers with the team. The colour schemes used in the background detailing also highlights the passage of time – with a multitude of classic team colours like the varying shades of red to the iconic raptor purple. Varying symbols also signify the greatness of these two athletes, with the number of stars depicting their multiple all-star appearances. The comic book themed shapes and line work further cements the two’s hero status amongst the Canadian public.
